Hi, there!
MOST DAYS YOU CAN FIND ME...
in a top knot, driving carpool or cooking a new recipe for my family. I'm a wife to Jon and a mama to Anna (8), David (6), Luke (4) and our lovable, yet neurotic rescue pup, Bella.
I photograph families who are yearning to be documented in an authentic, unposed way. Are you waist deep in the thick of motherhood? Do you have a deep desire to leave a photographic legacy? You are in the right place.
As a lifestyle photographer in Charlotte, NC, I've been featured on Lemonade and Lenses, 100-Layer Cakelet, and Charlotte Parent. I was also recently recognized as Best Photographer in the 2016 Macaroni Kid Gold Daisy Awards.
When I'm not busy working on your photo gallery, you can catch me doing really normal mom stuff - riding bikes in the cul-de-sac, working on sight words at the kitchen table, and always hunting for the lost library book. Our family's favorite way to unplug is to retreat to our backyard to roast some marshmallows by the fire pit. That's where all of our best conversations happen. And that's where my husband Jon and I like to linger long after the kids have gone to bed.
i photograph your family for the same reasons I photograph mine:
To celebrate the most beautiful, sacred moments of family life
To recognize significance and beauty in the mundane
To affirm a sense of belonging
To establish pride in your family
Above all else, I want to encourage others to live in the present. As Shauna Niequist writes so eloquently in her book, Present Over Perfect:
"Present is living with your feet firmly grounded in reality,
pale and uncertain as it may seem.
Present is choosing to believe that your own life [and family]
is worth investing deeply in, instead of waiting for some rare miracle or fairy tale.
Present means we understand that the here and now is sacred, sacramental,
threaded through with divinity
even in its plainness, especially in its plainness."

Here are six things you may not know about me:
I love all things design. I majored in art and spent several years in the advertising world before I earned the promotion of stay-at-home mom. Although I completed some courses back in college, I didn't fall in love with photography until my daughter was born and we purchased our first DSLR camera. I haven't put my camera down since.
My husband, Jon, and I have a heart for orphan care. Adopting our son Luke from China in the summer of 2018 was one of our best, most life-changing decisions. We love connecting with other adoptive/foster families in this journey.
I love a good DIY project, especially the kind where I do all the designing and my hubby controls all the power tools.
My heart is happy when I am cooking and hosting others in our home. Twinkle lights are always a welcome bonus.
I'm a podcast junkie. Send me your recent favorites!
I believe that faith and family are everything. I'm blessed to have both.

I'm eternally grateful to Cheyenne Schultz for these beautiful images of our family.
