Charlotte Lawrence - Newborn Session
Oh, I've been excited to share this one with you! Precious Charlotte arrived on Wednesday, June 3rd. A few days later, I had the privilege of photographing (and snuggling) her. Charlotte is already so loved and treasured. What a treat it was to spend time with Chelsea, John, and Charlotte's big furry brother, Cooper.
It's always fun to watch new parents dote over their babies, quickly memorizing every cry, whimper and skin dimple. But what stood out to me during the course of our photo session was actually Chelsea and John's love for one another. I could see it in the way John cares for Chelsea - gently attending to her physical and emotional needs as a new mom. He looks at her with a newfound pride, a deep appreciation for the way she carried and delivered his beautiful daughter with such strength and grace. And Chelsea leans on John in complete trust that he has her back - that he will be her steadfast partner in this journey called parenthood. How blessed little Charlotte will be to have parents with a strong marriage!
Chelsea and John just finished renovating their historical home in Plaza Midwood. And of course they took great care in making the nursery a warm and beautiful place to welcome baby Charlotte. I was in heaven photographing her room. Blush peaches, greys, lots of white space, great use of texture and accents of gold? Yes, please! I love how Chelsea and John incorporated personal heirlooms (a rocking horse from Chelsea's childhood that her dad restored for baby Charlotte, a beaded lamp that Chelsea's mom made when she was a baby) along with the handmade items (Chelsea painted the "so loved" canvas) and new items reflecting their personal style. The room gives a gentle nod to Charlotte's family history, yet sets the perfect scene for new memories to be made.
Chelsea and John, thanks again for welcoming me into your home and family for a few hours. Blessings to your new little family!
