Alecia and Stephen: Married
"I have found the one whom my soul loves" Song of Solomon 3:4
I cannot think of a better verse to describe the love of Alecia and Stephen.
Alecia and Stephen were married on the 24th of October, which was quite possibly the most gorgeous day of the year. They wed under a beautiful oak tree in Stephen's mother's backyard, gathered with an intimate bunch of family and favorite friends in Durham, NC.
So much care and thought was put into their day - I just love how this couple's impeccable sense of style and vivacious personalities could be seen in every detail.
I knew from the moment that I started photographing these two at their engagement session a few months back that they CHERISH one another. But what struck me on their wedding day was how they treated one another when things got quiet. When no one was looking. Praying together during the first look. The expression in their eyes and the sound of their voices as they recited their vows - solemn, life-long promises to stand firm in their love for Christ and to each other. The way they laughed and whispered and danced together when we snuck away to a secluded gravel road for some portraits at sunset.
Alecia and Stephen, it was an honor to celebrate and document your marriage. In the words of Walt Whitman, "The strongest and sweetest songs yet remain to be sung."
Cheers!
