Graham Bard - Newborn Session

Have you ever laid eyes on a more angelic baby? I had the honor of photographing baby Graham's newborn session back in October. I'm thrilled to finally be sharing it with you today! 

I remember telling Jared and Courtney what a gift it is to photograph new families - I tried to explain how much I love capturing unscripted moments and raw emotion. Their session was no exception. I loved witnessing Graham curl up his little fingers to his lips and even play peek-a-boo with me. You can see the pride and awe written all over Jared and Courtney's faces as they stare down at their handsome baby boy. You can't "pose" parents or teach modeling techniques like this. Their expressions illuminate the state of their hearts - wide open, broken in joy. I'm reminded of some beautiful lyrics from of one of the Bard family's favorite songs, 

My heart beating, my soul breathing
I found my life when I laid it down
Upward falling, spirit soaring
I touch the sky when my knees hit the ground

Graham Isaiah's name holds significance to the Bard family. "Graham" is Courtney's maiden name (just like mine!) and coming from a family of all girls (again, just like me!) she wanted to pass the name down to another generation. The name Isaiah means "salvation of the Lord". I can't wait to see what the Lord has prepared for this little boy's BIG life!
