Groves Davis - Newborn Session

Bradley and Lauren recently welcomed their second baby boy. And what a handsome boy Groves is! Big brother Waylon was quite enthralled with the new addition to the family (and perhaps the smarties candies I keep in my camera bag...shhh). I just loved the little twinkle he got in his eye when peering down at his baby brother in the crib.

During our session, Bradley and Lauren performed a sand ceremony to welcome Baby Groves into the family. We gathered on the screened-in porch for the new family of four to add blue sand (on behalf of Groves' arrival) to a commemorative bottle from Bradley and Lauren's wedding day. On their wedding day, they combined sands from the beach as a symbol of their unity. And now with each child joining the family, they add sand to the bottle. What beautiful symbolism for this growing family.

The Davis family's home was filled with personal, handmade touches - their decor included consistent reminders of their love for the ocean. Even the nursery had a salt water theme, complete with a shark sculpture and wave wall mural.

And do you see the gorgeous, reclaimed wood installation art? Bradley built it from barn wood off his family's land in Lincolnton. Not only was the piece beautiful and reminiscent of driftwood, but it held special meaning. Of course I had to photograph Groves in front of it...

Many blessings to the Davis family, party of four!
