Wright Bass - Newborn Session

A few weeks ago I had the pleasure of photographing the Bass family as they welcomed Baby Wright to the family. There's nothing like a newborn's sweet puckered lips and tiny, delicate hands curled up by the face. The mid-dream, spontaneous curl of the mouth. The little "dinosaur noises" they make when breathing which usually cause a first-time mom to call the pediatrician during the first week of life to ask, "Is this normal?"

It's no wonder that Emily and Sean are smitten. I don't think they peeled their eyes away from their son during our photo session. Such awe. Such wonder at this precious gift from God. Emily gently rocked Wright in the same chair that she was rocked in as a baby - a special heirloom now passed down to a new generation.

I love Emily's honest words about the meaning of family: "Family means sacrifice, in terms of blessing someone else at the expense of my needs. Expecting them to give nothing back to me in return. It means lots of time together. It means love and making memories."

Congratulations to the Bass family!

Many thanks to Kymm from Who's the Fairest for giving Emily some much-deserved pampering and makeup application before the session. Isn't Emily gorgeous?
